CNN’s Fareed Zakaria on Monday called President Trump’s election a “class rebellion” against elite educated professionals in the U.S., including himself and other CNN figures.

“I think there’s a whole part of America that’s sick and tired of being told what to do by this overeducated professional elite that Hillary ClintonHillary Rodham Clinton CNN’s Zakaria: Trump’s win was a ‘class rebellion against people like us’ Opinion | Bill O’Reilly: A media lynch-mob is trying to take down Trump Trump fuels doubts over GOP’s agenda MORE in many ways perfectly represented, and that’s why they’re sticking with him,” Zakaria continued.

Zakaria also highlighted the “cultural alienation” that white non-college education males felt as a driving force behind Trump’s election.

“The sense that their country’s changing because of immigrants, because maybe blacks are rising up to a central place in society, because of gays being afforded equal rights, because of, frankly, a lot of working women,” Zakaria said.

“Everyone is sort of muscling in on the territory that, if you think about it, the white working man had.”
